Ursula Wilson

A native Trinidadian, Ursula has received certifications from The New School University, in Professional Catering; The New School University, in Cake Decorating; The School of Bridal Consulting, in Professional Career Development; and Mayer School of Fashion Design. With both knowledge and experience, she has worked in the culinary field for the past twenty-six years.

With cooking being such an influential pass-time of her family, Ursula first was inspired at a young age. She learned the "tricks of the trade" from her aunt, who was a restaurateur and acted as a "coach". At the age of 17, Ursula made a very tasty and decorative crab salad, which had her family raving. At this point Ursula found her niche food preparation and presentation.

For many years, Ursula has worked in the banking business, but her passion has always remained focused on catering. When it came time for the holiday parties, showers, retirement or weddings, her first clients were from the office and/or referrals from co-workers. Known as the caterer that could provide catering services for parties and events from 25 to 500 satisfied guests, Ursula felt the desire to do something more creative and fulfilling at which time she considered a professional career in the culinary arts.

In 1980, Ursula prepared her first 5-tier wedding cake, creating her own style. With patience and deep determination, Ursula taught herself to prepare various dishes. She soon began her private catering company, Ursula's Creative Cakes & Catering. She has always maintained dedication to both looks and taste "if it looks good, you just might want a taste". Her #1 goal is to continue excellence in her services and bring about happiness to people through taste with her sophisticated touch of style.
